Our Creative Writing Marking Service gives detailed, encouraging feedback on your child’s writing, based on their structure, language and writing skills. Each piece is carefully read by one of our qualified English teachers, who provide tailored comments and clear next steps to help your child improve their skills and enjoy the writing process.

Whether your child is preparing for 11+ exams, entering a competition, or simply loves writing stories, this service helps them understand what works well, what could be developed, and how to make their writing shine.

What’s included:

• An overall mark presented as a percentage. Children applying for selective secondary schools should aim for a grade of over 70%.

• A breakdown of the marking, showing points awarded for over 20 criteria based on:

  • The use of a range of writing skills;
  • Structure, organisation and content;
  • Spelling, punctuation and grammar.

• Personalised feedback based on the areas for improvement, including model examples and practical tips to enhance writing style, structure, and creativity.
