What is discussed in the webinar?

  1. We will start by thinking about what phonics actually is. For those of you where phonics is entirely new, this will be a bit of an introduction to what it all means!
  2. We will then move on to looking at how phonics is structured in schools.
  3. Following on from this, we will work through the different phases of phonics.
  4. We’ll then take a moment to look at what Tricky and High Frequency Words are.
  5. We will then explain what the phonics screening check is, when it happens and what it involves.
  6. Finally, we will be looking at what you can do at home to support your child with their phonics.

Couldn’t recommend this more! So helpful in making me and my husband understand how best to introduce phonics to our eldest girl (at pre-school). We had no idea previously. Already put lots of it into action and seeing it make a difference with her understanding on letters and their sounds. Thank you Charlotte!
