Support your 1:1 students via Atom Enterprise

We are pleased to offer the tutors who we work with, free access to our Bright Light Education x Atom Enterprise account.

Tutors can choose to use Atom Enterprise with their 1:1 students. If tutors choose to use this product, they can use it to support their 1:1 students, without their clients needing their own ‘Atom Home’ subscription.

Tutors have access to 90,000+ questions which they can use within lessons and to set for homework. They can set baseline assessments, providing an instant assessment of a child’s ability. Atom Enterprise supports Key Stage 2 children (year 3-6), including aiding children with 11+ preparation. Everything is automatically marked so tutors can spend more time on student intervention.

Here are the topics which are covered for each subject:
English
Maths
Verbal Reasoning
Non-Verbal Reasoning
Science

Note that all questions are multiple-choice or fill in the gap. Creative writing is therefore not covered, however skills needed for creative writing (e.g. learning Parts of Speech etc) are included within English.

Atom Enterprise allows tutors to combine their expertise with the advanced features of Atom Learning to offer tailored support that meets the individual needs of each student, helping them to achieve their academic goals with confidence.

Once you have access to our Enterprise account, you will be able to manually add your students, so that they can access the free account from their home. 

How can I use Atom Enterprise within my tutoring sessions?

It is of course your choice how you use Atom Enterprise with your students but here are some suggestions:

1) You could use it within lessons, perhaps as starters or plenaries. You would need to ensure that you have assigned activities in advance of the lesson to your student. If the lesson is face-to-face, your student could use your computer to log in to their account and complete the activities, with you there to support, teach and guide. If the lesson is online, you could either ask the child to log in to their account and share their screen OR you could log in to their account and share your screen.

2) You could use it to set homework. Simply create the activity and assign it to the student for homework.

How do I inform my clients that I will be using Atom Enterprise?

It is your choice how you communicate this information to clients, but you might email your clients with something like this:

“I will be using the online platform, Atom Enterprise, with your child within some of my lessons and/or for homework. You can read more about Atom Enterprise here. Please could you confirm that you are happy for me to set this up?

If you are happy for me to go ahead, I will create your child’s Atom Enterprise account and provide you with their login and password, which they will use to log in to their account. Just head to Atom Learning Account Page and insert your child’s username and password.

Once this is created, you will need to set up a free Atom Enterprise parent account. This parent account allows you to view transcripts of your child’s results. To set up this parent account, please follow the instructions here.

Can I set 11+ mock tests?

Atom Enterprise doesn’t include Atom 11+ mock tests. If your client would like their child to do 11+ mock tests, we recommend your client upgrades their free Atom Enterprise account to an Atom Home account, perhaps in the couple of months leading up to the exam. The ‘Atom Home – Exam Prep Plus’ subscription allows the student to take hundreds of online mock tests matched to their choice of school. You can then link to their Atom Home account to see their results. See further details below for how clients can receive 10% off their first month.

What if my client already subscribes to Atom Home?

If your client already subscribes to ‘Atom Home’, we can link your student’s ‘Atom Home’ account with their new Enterprise account so that everything can be accessed under one profile for your student. Just let us know if you would like to do this.

As a tutor, you will only be able to see Atom Enterprise work within your Atom Enterprise account.

If you want to see your student’s Atom Home work, you will need to create your own free tutor account directly with Atom Learning and link this with your student. This is not something we get involved in.

How do I set up Atom Enterprise?

Here are some step-by-step instructions to get you started. You can also watch the onboarding video from Atom Learning below.
1) Let us know you would like to join the account and which email address you would like us to use on this account. Note that all tutors use the same Enterprise account and your email address will be visible to other tutors.
2) You will receive an email from Atom Learning, with the link to activate your ‘Atom School’ account. Complete the process to set yourself up as a tutor on the account.
3) Email your clients to inform them that you will be using Atom Enterprise within some of your lessons and/or for homework (template above).
4) Head to ‘Classes and Pupils’ and then ‘Manage Pupils’. Add your first student, creating their own simple username and password (you can probably make up their DOB if you don’t know it).
5) Click on ‘Manage Classes’ and set up a class called ‘Student Name Tutoring’* (e.g. Enzo Tutoring). Add your student to the class.
6) Email your client and tell them their child’s username and password, which they can now use to login to Atom Enterprise. Tell them to also create their free parent account by following these instructions here. You can also share this page with them here. You may like to tell them to bookmark their account login page and save the login details!
7) When you are ready to set up your first activity, head to ‘Activities’ and then ‘Create Activity’.
8) Set your Activity and connect to the student’s tutoring class. Choose whether you are setting it for homework or classwork
9) When the child logs into their own account, they will be able to see the lesson you have created. They can then do this for homework or within the class.
10) To view a transcript of your student’s results, click on ‘Manage Pupils’ and then ‘View’. Within the ScoreCard, you can view ‘Subject Scores’ and ‘Activities’.

Please note that if you don’t assign any activities to your student, they won’t be able to do anything via their student account. Therefore it is essential that you assign activities to your students!

Contact Bright Light Education if you would like access to the Enterprise account. Only tutors who we work with will be allowed to join. Once you have access to the account, you will receive the instructions on how to use the Enterprise account.
