Overview of the Club:
The three sessions include the following:
Session 1: Students share what they already know about the schools they are applying to and any information about the interviews. They explore what schools are looking for in the interview. They also explore activities which nurture a growth mindset so that they feel enthusiastic about participating in an interview and excited to share their knowledge, experiences and ideas with their interviewer. Finally they practise forming and sharing opinions.
Session 2: During this session, the students will be thinking in depth about their interests, achievements and activities they do both in and out of school. They will also look at books they have enjoyed which they could speak about in their interviews. They will explore some top tips for the interview as well as look at real interview questions, thinking about how they might answer them.
Session 3: This session explores the other topics that students might be asked about in their interview including mental maths questions, describing an image or a passage, current affairs and puzzles and word games. They will think about questions they might like to ask the interviewer too!
