Testimonials:

“We decided to get some 1:1 tuition for our son as he had been struggling with spellings, punctuation and handwriting for some time.  As literacy tends to be a source of frustration for my son, I was worried he wouldn’t enjoy the sessions or might view them as a chore.  I needn’t have worried as Laura has been absolutely brilliant with him.  Laura uses imaginative activities to engage and enthuse her students and has been very encouraging of our son when he does find the work challenging or gets frustrated with himself.  It’s definitely testament to Laura that he looks forward to the sessions each week and is always upbeat about what he’s learnt at the end of the session, despite finding spelling and phonics such a challenge.  I’ve definitely seen some real progress over the last couple of months and, as a parent, sitting in on the sessions has been invaluable in giving me some ideas of things I might do at home to support my son’s learning.  We’re really pleased that our son is going to be able to keep up his sessions with Laura via Skype once she moves to France as they have built up a great rapport and she clearly has excellent knowledge of the upper KS2 curriculum and of the current gaps in his understanding.  I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Laura if you’re looking for a hugely patient and experienced teacher for a child with some form of SEND.”

“Laura is such an enthusiastic, empathic and energetic tutor. My son needed support with maths and his handwriting, and she was able very quickly to identify strategies and creative ideas to use in his tutoring sessions and to help us work with him between sessions. She clearly understands children very well, and has a lovely manner which has helped put my son at ease after he had had a difficult time at school. She is really able to unpick our son’s individual needs and progress him in a caring way. My son now looks forward to working with her as one of the highlights of his week!”
