I am an enthusiastic, kind and fun-loving teacher who believes the key to successful teaching is through making learning fun. I strive to ensure my tutees are happy and interested by adjusting my teaching towards their preferred method of learning. I aim to create a warm and stimulating learning environment where the child can reach their full learning potential and grow in confidence, as well as ability.

“I have found Emma to be a fun, engaging and kind tutor who has been able to bond with our daughter from the get-go. She makes both Maths and Phonics fun and easy to understand and practise. Each lesson is followed by thorough feedback, exercises and advice. Within a short space of time I have noticed an improvement in my daughters work and a ‘can do’ attitude towards the subjects. It’s great to find a good fit so quickly.”
“Emma has been an absolute life saver during this lockdown and our little girl has become totally enthralled by her and her lesson with her is the absolute highlight of the day. I cannot believe the progress she has made in only 3 weeks both in terms of consolidating what she had learnt and progressing on all fronts – maths, reading, handwriting. No idea how anyone can keep a five year old engaged for an entire hour but Emma manages it even though she has yet to meet our daughter in person.”
“Emma is great with the kids and the grown-ups. Emma is a natural teacher – she understands how children think, what the blockages can be and knows all sorts of ways to help them ‘get the problem and answer’. She engaged with our son (7½) from minute one and continues to keep him learning and wanting to learn. Our son really looks forward to his Zoom lessons and focuses, happy for the whole hour (no mean feat, when he’d normally be ninja’ing about!).
Before we started, we had some concerns how online tutoring would work out – we needn’t have worried, Emma uses the technology so it’s actually an aid not a barrier. Lessons are fun and a great deal gets done. My son says “she’s really good at going through things with me and figuring them out, it really helps”. Most of all Emma instils confidence and a belief that problems can be solved. Emma also has great rapport with us parents, with comprehensive feedback after each session and follow-up materials to pick up with our son. I have zero hesitation in recommending Emma as a tutor, she’s been a ray of sunshine through lockdown.”
“During 2020 and with all the changes in school we reached out to Bright Learning for some additional help with our 6-year-old son. They kindly referred us to Emma and it was a match made in heaven for our son. Emma from the very first call, was charming and so engaging, that she had him enthralled from the start. She evaluated his ability and then has tailored the lessons to build the strength in various areas, for which we have seen a noticeable improvement.
The lessons are interactive and with a variety of subjects, which kept my son interested and paying attention for the full hour. There is also homework sent after the lesson and a recap of what has been achieved. The fact that my son asks to the additional work is testament to how fun Emma makes these lessons. I am so pleased we got Emma’s help, she has been so kind helping build my son’s confidence up, I could not hope for more. I fully recommend her.”
