Catherine is an outstanding primary school teacher who forges strong, positive and professional relationships with all children and their families. Catherine is quick to understand the ability, needs and potential in every child she teaches and she relishes the opportunity to challenge children to understand concepts more deeply and apply their knowledge in a variety of contexts in both fun and creative ways. Time and time again, I have seen children flourishing under Catherine’s teaching. Catherine enjoys celebrating children’s individual successes which is incredibly motivating and confidence-building for each child and she successfully instills resilience and perseverance in the children she teaches, recognising these are fundamental to children’s learning and development both in their education now and in preparation for their futures in the wider world. Having worked closely with Catherine, I have had the privilege of enjoying her superb collaborative skills and her excellent balance of professionalism, kindness, fun, creativity and efficiency. There is no doubt that she is able to establish positive relationships with people from all walks of life and commands herself in a calm, compassionate and empathetic manner. An additional strength of Catherine’s is her dedication to the task in hand, in particular the conscientious, efficient manner in which she approaches her work. You would be hard-pressed to find a professional who is more dedicated and hardworking. (Colleague)
