Key Stage Two Tutor

I am kind, patient and reliable with a good sense of humour. My 30 years of teaching experience in state and independent schools means that I have an in-depth knowledge of the curriculum.  I understand what motivates children and strive to add an element fun to my individually tailored lessons. I enjoy seeing children become confident, motivated learners by teaching them how to work efficiently and problem-solve. I have helped many children gain entry to the independent schools of their choice.

“Bev tutored all three of my daughters for their 11+ exams. In that time she visited weekly, helping the girls with maths, English, VR and NVR. Bev was always very patient, would explain things well and they really thrived under her teaching. All three children received an offer from their top choice school, Wimbledon High. I would have no hesitation in recommending Bev as a teacher or tutor.” (parent)

“Bev’s teaching style is open, respectful, informative and engaging. Students are challenged and required to think independently. She is empathetic to those who struggle and finds ways that give them confidence and self esteem. Above all, she loves teaching and that is apparent with both the quality of the work her children produce and their enjoyment of her lessons.”  (colleague)

“Bev is always punctual, prepared and engaging with both our son and us as parents. We like the fact that she sends us packs of work in advance, so we know what will be covered and what is expected. She also pro-actively makes suggestions for reading and writing which helps our son progress. Her manner is calm, thoughtful and positive and we appreciate her long teaching experience and knowledge of what is required for 11+.” (parent)

“I have found Bev to be professional, well prepared and very engaging as a teacher for my daughter.” (parent)

“My daughter absolutely loved Bev and she really enjoyed the lessons. She was very sweet and kind with her. Her lessons were fun and my daughter learnt so many new skills.” (Sarah – parent)

“Bev is kind, patient and importantly made the lessons fun and engaging. She takes the time to really understand the areas that need work. She made a real impact on my son’s confidence, helping him maximise his potential. He went from dreading English, to approaching it in a positive manner and ultimately achieving 4 offers and 1 wait list at his 11+ exams. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Bev!” (Sally – parent)
