Bright Light Education runs a friendly and effective Tutor Referral Agency in which Bright Light Education UK LLP acts as agents on behalf of the tutor and introduces the tutor to the client. Many clients have turned from face-to-face tutoring to online tutoring, particular since COVID-19. Many of our tutors are confident teaching online and the feedback we have received has been fantastic.
Our tutors are qualified teachers. We have a strict selection process and interview all our tutors. We request all tutors to have an enhanced DBS check and be signed up to the DBS Update Service. All our tutors are self-employed.
If you are keen to speak to one of our tutors, we would pass on their details to you and you would speak to them directly to see if you are able to work something out. All scheduling of sessions is done through the tutor and you would come to an agreement with them regarding an hourly rate. Our tutors charge between £35-£65/hr. There are no other hidden charges and there is no obligation to commit for a set period of time.
Bright Light Education is a Corporate Member of The Tutors’ Association, the only professional membership body for tutoring and the wider supplementary education sector in the UK and is recognised as such by the UK Government. Becoming a member of The Tutors’ Association signifies a commitment to the profession, and to upholding the highest standards of safeguarding, professional practice and ethical behaviour.
How can online tutoring help my child?
The tutor’s role is to support your child through their academic journey; to inspire and create a confident and secure child, motivated to learn and excited by their education ahead. Online Tutoring has never been so simple and, for many parents, is becoming the preferred method of tutoring.
There are many benefits to online tutoring:
Convenience and Flexibility: Not having to travel to the tutoring sessions means that you have more flexibility as to when your session is and cuts down on travel time, costs and stressful commuting!
Selecting the Tutor: You have more choice of tutors and so you can be sure that you find a tutor to suit your child’s needs.
Ease of Technology: There are so many online platforms for learning and screen sharing, making it easy for tutors to teach topics and view their tutees’ work. Many of our tutors use platforms such as Zoom and Bramble, which offer screen sharing functions and online whiteboards. All Clients and Tutors sign our Safeguarding Policy which includes the key areas for ensuring high security during online tutoring.
Feedback: With a bit more flexibility over time, communication with parents becomes a straightforward process.
Relaxed environment: For many children, learning in the comfort of their own home can give them greater confidence and enthusiasm towards learning.
“Emma has been an absolute life saver during this lockdown and our little girl has become totally enthralled by her and her online lesson with her is the absolute highlight of the day. I cannot believe the progress she has made in only 3 weeks both in terms of consolidating what she had learnt and progressing on all fronts – maths, reading, handwriting. No idea how anyone can keep a five year old engaged for an entire hour but Emma manages it even though she has yet to meet our daughter in person.” (Solange, parent)
“Thank you! The fact that we can continue our lessons online is amazing.” (Hannah)
“Thank you so much for the online lessons. My daughter LOVES your classes and it’s a welcome distraction at the moment.” (Laura)
“My son loves the online creative writing sessions. The lessons are stimulating and he is always engaged with his learning.” (Nicola)
