Bright Light Phonics

Welcome to our Bright Light Phonics Support Page, for those who attend our Bright Light Phonics classes.
Here you will find the objective for each lesson as well as resources for the lesson.
There are also extra resources for you to use with your child during the week.

Essential Details:

1.

We will keep all children ‘muted’ on Zoom. This is so parents can interact and support their child, without everyone talking on Zoom at the same time! When it is your turn for your child to speak and share their ideas, please press the ‘space bar’ on your computer (and keep it pressed down whilst you speak) and this will enable the ‘mute’ button to be temporarily ‘unmuted’. To ensure this function works on your Zoom application, head to ‘Audio Settings’ and make sure that “Press and hold Space Key to temporarily unmute” is ticked.

2.

All children learn phonics, reading and writing at different speeds. Within each lesson, we will set a few short activities.
Work at your own child’s pace.
Focus on what they need to improve on.

Be positive and encouraging!

3.

Remember the children are only in Reception and so they may find it hard to concentrate for the full 30 minutes of the lesson. Don’t worry if they need to stretch their legs or if they lose focus for a bit. Be patient! The main aim of the lessons is for children to learn to read and write confidently, with parents understanding how to support their child. It may be that the main learning comes after the lesson, over dinner time or even when you are tucking up your child in bed! Use what we teach you and your child as a focus for the week ahead.
